Waterproofing the soffit was the hardest part of this project. A specially designed “curtain hung” membrane was attached to the ceiling, held in place with joists below was installed. Correct lapping of the membrane was paramount to ensure it did not leak
Project Details
Following leaks to the underground bridge link store area Beautiful Basements was commissioned to design and install a remedial waterproofing system to prevent the basement storage areas from flooding. A combination of cementitious (type A) waterproofing systems and cavity drainage membrane (CDM – type C) linked to a sump and pumping station was used. A specially designed curtain hung membrane was applied to the soffit in the offices for additional protection from water ingress.
