The main build had been completed prior to any consideration for how to waterproof the new deck, creating great challenges in waterproofing continuity and damp transfer
Project Details
Beautiful Basements was asked to waterproof a deck above a new extension, built into a hill side in the Peak District.
The walls were constructed using waterproof concrete but the deck was block and beam and was leaking into the room below. The transition between deck and doorway to the upper floor had not been considered, nor had any method for waterproofing. Beautiful Basements had to work with what was there and design a suitable solution.
New structural toppings, slip coats, waterproofing layers and protection membrane were installed and stopped all leaks, ready for the finising layers to be applied
